As a result of the current economy, the Township must restructure our annual spring cleanup program. We understand how important this service is to our residents. In an effort to retain the service for 2010, the Township will be hosting two drop-off days for Township residents only on Saturday, May 8th and Saturday May 15th from 8am to 1pm at the municipal complex at 111 Greenbrook Road.
Acceptable Items:
Household items such as: old furniture, rugs, and collections from attic, basement or tool shed. Please be sure that all items can be safely moved from your vehicle to the dumpsters using appropriate boxes where needed.
Items that will NOT be accepted:
Major appliances, concrete, propane tanks, tree stumps, tires, paint and other toxic materials, recyclables, large amounts of building materials. If possible, metal items should be kept separate so that they can be easily placed in a separate receptacle on site.
Materials will only be collected during collection hours. Please bring a valid ID.
REMINDER: As curbside collection will not be taking place, any materials left curbside must be removed by the property owner or their private hauler.
Other ways to dispose of household items:

What can I do with the rest of my unwanted items?
Remember that old adage “One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.”
Let’s keep stuff out of the landfill - Join Somerset County NJ Freecycle Network. (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/somersetfreecycle/) Their goal is to reduce waste by connecting people who are discarding unwanted items with others seeking the same items. No item is too big or too small; but ALL items must be 100% free. So before you think about tossing anything, think about offering it up for reuse!
