Based on the article below and from communication directly from the County, the County is asking Green Brook residents to put recycling out as regularly scheduled on Friday. BUT - Please leave your cans out. If recycling does not get picked up on Friday, they will get to it (according to an earlier article, Green Brook recycling may not be able to be picked up until Monday, depending on how the County crews are doing with the backlog due to the storm). If you have a question about recycling, please call the County at 732-469-3363.

Somerset County Recycling Moves Closer to Regular Schedule Following Winter Storm Orlena

Residents Are Now Asked to Put Out Their Recycling as Regularly Scheduled

Post Date:02/03/2021 4:51 PM

Somerville, NJ – Somerset County Recycling is working hard to clear the backlog resulting from two days of snow from Winter Storm Orlena. It is expected that crews will be able to complete all areas affected by the suspended service by tomorrow and move into additional towns until regular scheduling is restored early next week.

Somerset County residents are now asked to put out their recycling for their normally scheduled date and leave their bins by the curbside until crews make it to their neighborhood. Do not wait to put bins curbside, and do not take them in until they have been emptied.

Recycling Thanks YouOn Thursday, Feb. 4 crews will be in areas originally scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, including Bedminster, Bernardsville, Bridgewater, Far Hills, Peapack Gladstone, and the Sunset Lake area of Bridgewater. As soon as any one area is cleared, crews will move on to the next neighborhood until the regular schedule is back in effect.

Residents who have missed their regularly scheduled pickup are asked to hold their recycling until their next recycling date, or to bring their items to First Saturday Recycling on Feb. 6 at 40 Polhemus Lane in Bridgewater from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proof of Somerset County residency (current driver's license, valid lease, tax or other bill with a Somerset County address) is required, and businesses may not participate.

The 2021 Recycling Schedule is available in a printable PDF online at https://www.co.somerset.nj.us/Home/ShowDocument?id=39983. Residents are also encouraged to download the Recycle Coach app for smart phones at https://www.co.somerset.nj.us/government/public-works/recycling/recycle-coach.

The Somerset County Recycling Division thanks residents for their patience and understanding.
