Registration for the upcoming Saturday morning Rec season is open now, and closes November 10th.
Green Brook Recreation
111 Greenbrook Road
Green Brook, NJ 08812

The Saturday morning Rec program is open to children from grades 1 to 8; 1 form and 1 check can be used
for the entire family. The program is an instructional format, where techniques, skills and drills are given to the
children, followed by game play. There are two instructors with each group, to enable better oversight of
progress and small group instruction. Registration is $85 per child, with a family maximum of $170.
Rec Instruction & Play begins in December. Dates are Dec 2, 9, 16, Jan 6, 13, 20, 27, and Feb 3, 10, 17, 24.
Registration Deadline for Saturday Rec is November 10th. After that date, your child’s participation is not
guaranteed and is subject to a $5 per child late fee. Please register early so that we can order shirts.
This Saturday Rec program participation will continue to be held in Green Brook.

Travel Basketball
Boys at the 8th grade level will continue to participate as a Green Brook Travel team. The team is open to
any 8th grader, as well as the few 7th grade boys that played last season. The number of children registering
will determine the tryout schedule. Practices will begin in mid-October. Games start December 1.
Registration closes October 10.
To register for the 8th Grade Boys Travel team, use this form and write a separate check for $150.
Travel for girls grades 4-8 and boys grade 4-7 will be eligible to register to play in the Warren program!
We are appreciative of the Board of Directors of the Warren Youth Basketball Association for their willingness
to accept the Green Brook children into the travel program. The cost of the program is $350, plus a uniform
cost for all new players. There is no fee to register for tryouts – you will only be charged if your child makes
the team. Registration closes October 1!

What are the differences in program? The Rec program is instructional in nature, and is comprised solely of
Saturday play. Each week, the players receive instruction, followed by game play. The Travel program is a
more competitive, more serious program. Games occur on weeknights as well as weekends. Practices are
scheduled by the coaches to provide instruction prior to and during the course of the season. Travel players
are permitted to register for Green Brook Saturday Rec, to work on the skills that need refining. The travel
program requires a greater commitment of time, not only on the part of the players but the parents as well.

New for 2023 – Warren Rec Basketball Program. Not sure if you are ready for Travel basketball but looking
for a little more than the GB Saturday morning Rec program? WYBA is now accepting Green Brook residents
into their Rec program, for grades 3-8. This program is a little more intense than the Green Brook program.
Participants have a one-hour practice on a weeknight, and games are played either Friday night or Saturday
morning. Participation cost is $175 before November 1, $200 thereafter.
