Tree Giveaway 4/24 - 9am @ Town Hall

Township of Green Brook Tree Giveaway

The Township has 100 of each variety listed below to give away on Saturday, April 24^th from 9am until supplies run out at 111 Greenbrook Road. This is a drive-through event. Limit of 5 trees per family.

RED OAK

Fast growing and tolerant of many soils. Grows to 40' to 60', 40' spread. Prefers full sun (6 hrs direct light daily)

CORNELIAN-CHERRY DOGWOOD

Small, 20- to 25-foot-high tree or large shrub, mature width, 15-20 ft. Prefers full sun (6 hrs direct light daily), Partial sun/shade (4-6 hrs light daily). Soil Preference: Alkaline soil, Moist, well-drained soil.

PERSIMMON

Fruit baring tree, with a mature height of 12-15 feet and 10-12 feet wide. Prefers full sun (6 hrs direct light daily), Partial sun/shade (4-6 hrs light daily). Soil Preference: Any well drained soil; Loamy

WHITE PINE

Fast growing, hardy, valuable tree. Grows 50' to 80' with a 20-40' spread. Prefers full sun (6 hrs direct light daily), Partial sun/shade (4-6 hrs light daily). Soil preference: acidic, moist, well-drained and dry soils but can tolerate everything from dry, rocky ridges to bogs.

PIN OAK

Fast-growing, likes full sun. Grows to 60' to 70', 25'-45' spread. Soil preference: acidic, loamy, moist, rich, sandy, well-drained, wet and clay soils
