An important notice about your 2025 tax assessment Each year, Green Brook Township adjusts all property tax assessments based on market trends for each neighborhood within the town. Different neighborhoods may appreciate or depreciate at different rates, so the goal of the reassessment is to set all property values as close to what they would sell for as of October 1st each year to ensure every property pays its fair share of the property tax levy. 2025 Property Tax Assessments postcards are currently being printed and mailed, and the Tax List is available to review at the Green Brook Municipal Building. When you receive the assessment postcard, please examine your assessed value, as that is the estimation of your property's fair market value as of October 1st, 2024. Please note that the percent change of your assessment does not equate to the same percent increase or decrease in property taxes. The 2025 tax rate will be certified in and around July, when the budgets for the County, School District and Township are all adopted. If you have questions about your 2025 property tax assessment, please contact the Tax Assessor Christopher Wong at CWong@greenbrooktwp.org, or (908) 307-9920, or (732) 968-1023 x 6615. If, for whatever reason, you do not agree with your assessed value, you must file an appeal by May 1 to contest your property's valuation.
